A special meal

As I was fixing dinner tonight Damon, our middle boy, decided to make it special. He got out the battery powered candles and set them up on tv trays and when I came in with my plate I found this note. Just in case you can't read it, it says "to mom from the boys it's a fatsy diner." :-/ oh the things they say! (or write)

Communion

For years my middle son has referred to being baptized as "bathtized." But I heard a new word for it and a description of Communion the other day that has him beat. Reposted from a Facebook friend: Faith: So when someone dives in the water at church, they are vapapitzed, right? And then they get those 2 things? (What 2 things?) That pill and drink. That little drink. Thank you Faith for making us smile! Oh the things they say!

The worst thing about Juvie

Tonight while we were taking a walk through the neighborhood, Damon asked what Juvie is. So I tell him that it's like jail for little boys and girls who make bad choices. "Are they nice to you there?" he wants to know. I told him no. Then he asks "what kind of mean things do they do to you?" So I say "Well they make you work hard and you have to stay in a cell and not play outside or watch t.v. or do anything fun." And then he says "And they put beans in your chili." Yes son,yes they do and it's horrible. Stay out of Juvie! Oh my goodness, the things they say!

The revised Alphabet

Damon goes to my best friend's house while I attend a class on Tuesday and Thursday. Last Thursday when I went to pick him up he was playing with alphabet magnets on the fridge with her youngest. They were "spelling" words and Brynnlee started putting the letters in order and she was saying their names as she placed them in a line. "A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, Jake, Cake."

The bad spot

We were watching The Karate Kid tonight and after we were about 20 minutes into it Zach asked Damon if he wanted to move to China. Damon said "No because I don't want that boy to beat me up."

A little while later a scene came on where the group of bullies were beating up little Will Smith. They were holding him by his arms while the leader was kicking his ribs. Zach said if he was kicking my like that I'd kick him right in the nuts and Damon says "Yeah and I'd kick him in the bad spot."

I got a scolding!

The boys were watching tv while I was doing the after dinner dishes when Damon runs into the kitchen and says "Mom how many times do I have to tell you to not wecowd(record) your shows when we are watching our shows? Now immediately to your room and think about it!"

Telling time...

This morning I was sleeping in and the boys had both gotten up already and were watching tv. Damon came in and woke me up because he was hungry. I told him to go ask Myles what time it was and come back in and tell me. So he runs off and comes back in to tell me that it is "pointy nine six."

He also asked my mom the other day "Munkin what's plus two by four?"
